Matthew Bruch's former work was in U.S. Air Force public affairs, where he created photographic, film, and journalistic documentation for the Department of Defense. The images shown here were produced during that chapter of his career, with a focus on documenting military operations, exercises, and recovery missions. He now primarily works in medium format film photography as a personal pursuit.
Between 2010 and 2016, he supported documentation efforts across more than 40 global operations and exercises, including Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve, and later contributed to missions connected to the search for 45 missing American service members in Vietnam, Laos, Burma, and Papua New Guinea.
His work has appeared in or been featured by Forbes, Business Insider, The Washington Post, BBC World News, Fox News, Popular Mechanics, Defense News, Task & Purpose, Air Force Times, Military Times, and others.
